Gas, Oil, and LP Furnaces
Today, most new furnaces run on natural gas. However, some systems do exist that run on propane or heating oil. We are able to install and maintain all three types. Sometimes it's also worth it upgrade to a newer, high efficiency model, which can save you money every month. We can help you determine your savings in that case. Also, check out our annual maintenance plans, which can help prolong the life of your furnace, and allow it to run more efficiently.
Air Source Heat Pumps
An Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) uses vapor compression refrigeration to transfer heat inside a building to outside, or the reverse. These systems can be energy efficient, and may be used to transfer heat to a hot water tank or water filled radiators, and can be used to both heat and cool a home or business.
Geothermal Heat Pumps
A Geothermal or Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) is similar to an air source heat pump, but it transfers heat from the ground instead of the air. These systems normally cost more to install, but due to the energy savings, they normally pay for themselves within ten years, and tax rebates may be available (consult an accountant for details).
Hot Water Boilers
Also known as a hydronic heating system, a boiler will boil water then pump the steam through radiators in the baseboards or under the flooring in order to create radiant heat. They can be an efficient method of heating a building, and take up less room than forced air systems.
Air conditioning systems often tie in with the ductwork of the furnace, which is why the systems together are known as HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning). Air conditioning systems are a combination of a condensing coil, expansion valve, evaporator coil, and a compressor. They also can serve to de-humidify an area. Just like the heating systems, the cooling system needs to be maintained every year to ensure proper function.
